Types of visa you can choose to live in panama
Panama is a top tourist and commercial destination due to the great opportunities it offers its visitors and investors, tranquility and quality of life.
These are some types of visa:
VISA OF FRIENDLY COUNTRIES: This residence agreement between Panama and various countries around the world establishes that citizens of a list of countries that are considered «friends» of Panama have certain facilities to obtain residence in the country. Some of Panama’s friendly countries are: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Uruguay, Spain, Italy, United States, Canada, United Kingdom.
MARRAKECH AGREEMENT VISA: The Marrakesh Treaty is an agreement created by the World Trade Organization in which the foreigner has the right to work in a company whose national employees are between 3 to 10.
MARRIED PANAMANIAN VISA: It is a simple option if you married a Panamanian and wish to obtain a Residence Permit. You must present, among other requirements, the original passport, the police record of the country of origin, Marriage Certificate and Medical Certificate. Once the Visa is approved, the applicant is granted 2 years of temporary residence in the country after which they can apply for permanent residence.
FORESTRY INVESTOR VISA: This option allows forest investors to apply for Temporary or Permanent Residence in Panama. There are 2 processes for this: express and regular. In the express process, the investor can work on a 5-year project in a personal capacity and in the regular process, the foreigner can invest in a forestry project approved by the Ministry of the Environment in Panama.
AGRICULTURAL INVESTOR VISA: This visa allows foreigners to invest in Panamanian agriculture and aquaculture. A minimum investment of USD $60,000 under personal title or with a legal entity is required in projects that the Ministry of Agricultural Development considers to be of national interest.
